Dopamine in simple language is the Happiness Chemical of our brain . Simply , the same thing that make us feel good after good sex , make us feel like top on world when achieve our goals and have major accomplishment in our carrier , same chemical responsible for addiction of alcohol and drugs , Same chemical when not released make us feel depressed and the same reason people feel like they are not going to live during major failures in there life .

Why then do I decided to Go on a Dopamine fast ?

One of the Major reason I am going on a Dopamine Fast is the fact because It is responsible for our Achievement and Motivation system . and because of Overuse of Torrents , Netflix , Pornography , Books , Social Media , Regular Masturbation , i have messed up my Brain reward system and if i say in simple words , Reprogrammed it to actually get motivated and feel happy by doing most things that does not contribute to my life . I am addicted to Social Media , Prime videos , Searching for new courses and programs that could change my life , Of course Porn too .

so Going on Dopamine Fast means i leave every Artificial Pleasure and go back to Basics of Being Human . And if i stay away from Artificial Pleasures Long enough , I would reprogram my Dopamine Receptors and my brain rewarding system to Get Pleasure and Happiness By doing Meaningful and really Important Activities that contribute meaning and fulfillment in my life .

So by now , you understand what it is and why i am dong it ( if someone is reading this ) .Now Let me explain Do’s and don’ts,

  1. NoFap – Hard Mode

  • No Porn
  • No Browsing throughout girls account on Social Media
  • No Edging
  • No Masturbation

2. Digital Stimulation ( limit Internet Use to 15 mins for Leisure time everyday )

  • Eliminate all Social Media apps (except Messenger and Whatsapp)
  • Social Media Use At all (Instagram , Facebook )
  • YouTube Videos ( Not watching at all except study and work related )
  • News ( do not read any kind of news at all )
  • Mindless Browsing
  • Movies or TV shows ( NO PRIME OR NETFLIX OR TORRENT )
  • Turn off Notification for every app except Whatsapp and Messenger
  • Do not check phone unless there is some Notification

3, Social Life

  • Bullying ( Don’t try to bully anyone or make fun of anyone)
  • Do not Shout at all
  • Do not Cut anyone when they are talking
  • Do not spend time thinking negative or doing Activities that are not really important .

4. Reading and Courses

  • No Books ( No mindless Reading at all )
  • Only 3 program at a time ( choose those and complete them , then move to another ones )
  • No internet Article Reading
  • No Mindlessly Searching Books on amazon for click bait titles

5, Screens

  • No television at all
  • No Funny Videos or GIF

6, Social Activity

  • Do not Hang out with Energy Vampires
  • Do not sit in a group where people are good at bad things
  • Do not be part of gossip or any group full of complainers
